‘Shall I stay or shall I go?’ This is the question that the youth of East Pomerania ask themselves as they sway between departure and attachment to their homeland, between pragmatism and diffuse nostalgia. They live in a region that is disintegrating into a touristic coastal strip with a high gloss fasade and a desolate, slowly bleeding hinterland. MID SEASON allows four trainees the space to become the protagonist, places them in a visually staged situation related to their living circumstances and asks the question: How does one start a life in a place marked by such diverging social conditions?
